A policeman in Shkodër has been handcuffed by the Police Supervision Agency, with accusations of misuse of duty and corruption.

It is suspected that the PQ policeman, with the duty of Control near the Hani i Hoti Border Crossing Point, took a bribe in order not to detain a Montenegrin citizen who was wanted by Interpol.

AMP Notice:

The Police Supervision Agency (Shkodër - Lezhë Region) has executed the arrest order of the police officer Inspector PQ, with the duty of Controller at the Hani i Hoti Border Crossing Point, suspected of the criminal offenses "Abuse of duty" and "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions".

The investigation showed that the police officer did not take measures to arrest a Montenegrin citizen, who, during the verification at the checkpoint, was wanted by Interpol.

Investigations continue for the full disclosure and the possible involvement of other employees in this event.
