After Prime Minister Edi Rama announced the decision a day ago to close the TikTok platform in Albania, with the aim of ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people in the digital space, the National Authority for Cyber Security (AKSK) announced the steps that will be followed.
"Steps towards implementation include the launch of the technical-legal process to block the TikTok platform on a large scale at the national level, lasting approximately 1 year," says a notice published on social networks.
The National Cyber Security Authority emphasizes that, in cooperation with the National Information Society Agency and several other public institutions, it has coordinated and provided a contribution to the preliminary technical and scientific analysis for taking this important decision.
"AKSK will continue to be an essential part of the implementation process, offering its expertise to ensure the successful implementation of this goal," the announcement concludes.
