After Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today the decision to close the TikTok platform in Albania, with the aim of ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people in the digital space, the National Authority for Cybersecurity (AKSK) announced the steps that will be followed.

"Steps towards implementation include the launch of the technical-legal process to block the TikTok platform on a large scale at the national level, lasting approximately 1 year," the announcement states.

The National Cyber ​​Security Authority emphasizes that, in cooperation with the National Information Society Agency and several other public institutions, it has coordinated and provided a contribution to the preliminary technical and scientific analysis for taking this important decision.

AKSK announces that it will continue to be an essential part of the implementation process, offering its expertise to ensure the successful implementation of this goal.
