Minister of the Interior, Bledi Çuçi

The Minister of the Interior, Bledi Çuçi, said that the police control operation in the MEK camp this Tuesday was not consulted with partners, not even the United States.

"The Americans are not part of the agreement. The Americans are our closest partners and there is no doubt that we are on the same page as far as the implementation of either international law or law enforcement in Albania is concerned," said Çuçi in a press conference where he gave details of the operation.

"We are an independent country and when there is a court decision, no one in the world is consulted. It must be implemented. There is no room at all to discuss whether or not to discuss the court's decision with anyone. We usually implement court decisions that we don't like, but we implement them".
