The Minister of the Interior, Bledi Çuçi, appeared at a press conference after the police search of the camp of MEK members in Manzë, Durrës. He stated that SPAK had strong indications and reasonable suspicions that members of the MEK in Albania did not respect the agreement and for this they started several criminal cases. According to Çuçi, the police today implemented the court's decision to conduct a search in the territory of the camp and seize electronic devices. According to Çuç, the camp has no special protection and is a territory like all other territories in the country.

"The MEK organization has an agreement with the Albanian government to take refuge in Albania only for humanitarian purposes. This is written in black and white. Equally clearly written in the agreement is the fact that they are forbidden to carry out any kind of political activity, or other activities of a political nature, or protests of any color, form that they have. From time to time we have had concerns about non-compliance with the agreement. Their political activities have been public, but only recently, that is, their political activity has recently attracted the attention of SPAK, which has started more than one criminal case related to this. As in fact every law enforcement institution in Albania should act, SPAK had reasons and reasonable suspicions and strong indications regarding this, has addressed the court to make an inspection inside the camp which is an Albanian territory like all other territories, there is no special protection and to make seizures of equipment that could be found there that are related to the case initiated by SPAK -u. The court has made a decision within all Albanian laws. This is where the action of the police begins. So it is an action that is directly related to the implementation of the Court's decision to conduct an inspection in the entire territory where all the members of the MEK organization are housed and to seize electronic devices according to the court's decision", said Çuçi. there is no special defense and to make seizures of equipment that could be found there that are related to the case initiated by SPAK. He also expressed regret for the reaction of MEK members to the police action.

"I feel sorry and even indignant with the reaction of members of the MEK organization to the State Police. I feel sorry because Albania has offered them everything related to their humanitarian accommodation in Albania according to the agreement. He has offered you help, security. It has even offered you protection against all threats coming from the secret services of the Iranian regime. I believe that for more than 3000 days they have lived in complete safety under our full guarantee. It is unimaginable the violence and the reaction they made today to the actions of the police. I believe that we should all agree that not only is it a legal violation for anyone who lives in Albania, who is an Albanian citizen or has agreed to live within Albanian laws, but also a kind of violation of the code of hospitality that we have offered to them" , said Chuçi.

Çuçi said that the person who lost his life on Tuesday in the Mujahideen camp in Manzë did not die as a result of the actions of the police.

"The person who died today in the camp, I guarantee you that the death was not caused by any action of the police forces. We are waiting for the forensic expertise. There is also footage from the police, but I am convinced that there is also footage from MEK members themselves, which proves this. Because not even one member has been touched by hand. We will wait for the forensic expertise", said Çuçi in a statement to the media.

"He is an old man, 76 or 79 years old if I'm not mistaken. Deaths inside the camp happen regularly because it is a community that has created life there and it is a natural phenomenon. I am convinced because we have taken all due care not to create any incident with any of the members inside the village".
