Drugs, fraud and other crimes/ Albanian wanted for four years is caught hiding

A 33-year-old Albanian man, who has been on the run for more than four years, has been arrested and sentenced to three years and seven months in prison by the Italian justice system.

He had been a fugitive and wanted for a long list of crimes. In recent days, officers tracked him down at a hotel in the city.

The arrested person is illegally residing in Italy, has an extensive criminal and police record, and is subject to a detention order issued by the Brescia Public Prosecutor's Office.

The order stems from final convictions for crimes against property, fraud and drug trafficking.

After being identified at police headquarters, he was transferred to the Canton Mombello prison to serve a sentence of 3 years and 7 months. Investigations are underway to determine who may have helped him remain a fugitive until his arrest, Italian media reported .

Given the 33-year-old's social dangerousness, his propensity for crime and his numerous criminal records, the Chief of Police of the province of Brescia, Paolo Sartori, has issued an expulsion order against him from the national territory, which will come into effect at the end of serving his sentence.
