The victim of Monday's explosion in Saranda is businessman Armand Nelaj , 52 years old.

Nelaj was a businessman for 13 years in this city and owned a heavy construction equipment company.

The police have not yet come up with an official version of the reason for the explosion, as the expert report is awaited.

Meanwhile, the incident is being investigated on two tracks, that of the explosion of the oxygen cylinder while the 52-year-old man was diving into the sea, but the possibility that he was assassinated with tritol is not excluded.

These last suspicions arose after during the inspection in the waters by the divers, metal pieces were found that are thought to belong to the vehicle where Armandi Nelaj was.

The businessman Nelaj was also mentioned earlier for an affair regarding the alienation of a public property, a flower garden in the center of the city of Saranda.

Meanwhile, the whole event is shrouded in mystery because of the time when it happened, exactly at 10:00 p.m. when all the attention was on the Albania-Spain match .

The victim was found by two foreign nationals, who were traveling in a dinghy towards their boat. These two people immediately took him out of the water and transported him to the port of Saranda, where he was then taken by the ambulance to the hospital.

Despite efforts to save him, the businessman did not manage to survive.

His identification was managed only after the family members alerted the police, who had lost contact with him. After the complaint, the family members identified the 52-year-old from a tattoo on his left arm.
