US President Donald Trump had an unusual moment during an election rally in Daytona Beach, Florida, when he was forced to briefly interrupt his speech due to an eye problem.

Trump was delivering his speech as part of the midterm election campaign when he suddenly showed difficulty keeping his eye open and addressed the audience, asking: "Do you have a problem? I have something in my eye, look."

Then, he took a tissue, moistened it with the water he had in the glass, and then cleaned his eye. After getting over the situation, saying that he now felt much better, he also made a humorous comment about the eye drops, adding that he would like to have them with him, but was hesitant to use them in public.

Trump took the opportunity to counter criticism and speculation raised in the media about his health, following the previous cancellation of two rallies in Kansas and Iowa.

"If I used (the eye drops), they would say I was very sick and that something was wrong with me," he declared to his supporters, who greeted him with laughter and applause.
