A serious incident has occurred in Greece, where a 32-year-old man is suspected of having forced his way into his ex-partner's apartment in Lavrio and attacked her and her new partner with a knife. Both injured are in hospital in serious condition, while at the time of the attack the couple's two minor children (the injured woman and the perpetrator), aged 2 and a half and 1 and a half years, were also in the apartment.

The 32-year-old, a Romanian citizen, was previously known to the authorities, as his ex-partner had reported him five times since November 27, 2025 for cases related to domestic violence, as well as violation of alimony obligations.

About a month before the attack, on September 3, 2026, the 32-year-old was arrested again for domestic threats and weapons violations. During the search, police found a cutting tool about 22 centimeters long and a rod.

The latest incident occurred at around 00:15 in the Kavodocanos area of Lavrio. According to preliminary information, the 32-year-old climbed onto the balcony of the apartment where his ex-partner was with her partner and forced his way in, after breaking the glass of the balcony door with a hammer.

He then allegedly attacked them both with a knife. The 32-year-old woman suffered wounds to her back, lungs and upper limbs, while her 33-year-old partner suffered injuries to his collarbone, ribs and genitals.

Both were transported by ambulance to the Asklepieion Hospital in Vula. Due to her serious condition, the woman was later transferred to Evangelismos Hospital, while the 33-year-old continues to receive treatment at Asklepieion. The health condition of both is reported to be serious.

At the time of the attack, the woman and the 32-year-old man's two young children were inside the apartment. According to preliminary information, they were asleep when the attack occurred.

After the incident, the suspected perpetrator surrendered himself to the Lavreoti Police Department. A criminal case for attempted murder has been filed against him.
