Myrto Uzuni appears to have bid farewell to Granada after three years, with the national team striker leaving the Spanish club as their all-time top scorer.
Through a post on social media, he confirms his departure from Spain, which will begin a new adventure in the USA with Austin FC.
In the post, Uzuni writes that he lost the European Championship with Albania for this shirt, while not sparing "bites" for several members of the club.
"Dear Granada CF fans,
Today I say goodbye. The moment came with tears in my eyes after three unforgettable years. I thank my teammates, coaches and club workers. The kitchen girls. People who work hard and don't go on television to share the moments of triumph and defeat that marked me forever.
I came in 2022, we experienced a decline that made me stronger and in 2023 I reached my best version, winning the top scorer trophy with 23 goals and the championship title. In 2024, even though I scored 11 goals, they were not enough to save the team. I played injured with pins and needles in every match. And I missed Euro 2024 after feeling the weight of your support and giving everything for this shirt.
Today I have to make a difficult decision for my family. I leave this club with pride, being the best foreign scorer in its history (49 goals, 8 assists in 106 games). I will never forget your support, especially that of the Curva Sur.
I hope this is a "see you later" and not a final goodbye. Until the moment these people are no longer at the club. Because Granada deserves to always be in La Liga. My heart will always be red and white.
"I love you, my Granada. Always your soldier, Myrto Uzuni," the national team striker wrote in his Instagram post.
