Sassuolo sporting director Giovanni Carnevali has announced that Nedim Bajrami is close to joining Glasgow Rangers for €4 million.

The Albanian footballer is on the verge of moving to Scotland from Sassuolo, which competes in the second division of Italian football.

"It's about the end but it's not over yet. We're working on it. I think we will reach an agreement soon," Carnival said.

The former Empoli midfielder joined Sassuolo in January 2022, scoring four goals in 49 matches in their shirt.

The 25-year-old has made three appearances for Sassuolo in all competitions in the current season, while counting ten goals and 11 assists in 100 Serie A games with Sassuolo and Empoli.

His contract with the Italian club expires in June 2027, but it seems the sides have found common ground to terminate cooperation earlier.
