Milan has launched a "broom" operation to create space in the squad and on the balance sheet, while preparing for new approaches. After the presentation of the transfer market plans by Igli Tare, intensive work is already underway on departures.

The first to say goodbye is Emerson Royal. The Brazilian defender was close to leaving last summer, but an injury kept him out. Now, he could return to Real Betis, where he played from 2019 to 2021. His agent has been seen at the Spanish club's headquarters to negotiate a one-year loan, with or without an option to buy.

Emerson joined Milan last summer from Tottenham for around €15m plus bonuses. But he won't be the only one to leave. Bennacer, Adli, Okafor, Chukwueze and Musah are also on the waiting list to leave, with the latter's move to Napoli already falling through. Pobega and Colombo are also in doubt; Colombo could be included in the Ricci deal with Torino.

Also, Theo Hernandez is expected to move to Al Hilal, which will force the club to bring in another left-back, in addition to a right-back. In the center, Malick Thiaw is at risk, who is wanted by Bayer Leverkusen and Como. The latter has offered him 4 million euros per season.

Como and Milan are also negotiating for Alvaro Morata, currently at Galatasaray. The deal is subject to the termination of his loan with the Turkish club. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Como is ready to invest 45 million euros for both players.
