PSG are in the round of 16 of the Club World Cup after a 2-0 victory over Seattle Sounders, but after the match Luis Enrique has something to criticize. In addition to the heat – a constant problem for all teams struggling with the American climate – there is also the issue of the smaller stadium pitches: the Parisians played at Seattle's Lumen Field, where they found a dilapidated pitch, not up to the standard for hosting international matches. Jude Bellingham, a day earlier, had also raised the same criticism of the organization, thinking especially about the World Cup that will be played there in less than a year.

In the post-match press conference, the Spanish coach expressed his complaint with a lot of anger and frustration, despite the victory. The pitch conditions were not acceptable and Luis Enrique pointed the finger at FIFA for not paying attention to details: "It's not easy, it's difficult to have fluidity on the pitch, it's different from Europe, but we're trying to adapt."

It's a sentiment shared by opposing players, who also fear they could suffer injuries on imperfect pitches. At the press conference, Luis Enrique raised his voice as he expressed his indignation at the pitch's conditions: "It's very different from European stadiums. They're okay, but the ball bounces like a rabbit. Since it was an artificial pitch before and now it's natural, you have to water it by hand. They watered it during half-time and it dried up for 10 minutes. It's a clear problem, it's not an excuse; I'm saying it today, even though we won. You can't play at the level you want. And FIFA has to take that into account."

The problem continues not only in the stadiums hosting the Club World Cup matches, but also in the training grounds, which are not in the best condition. The PSG coach continues to raise his voice and makes a comparison with the NBA to take a swipe at FIFA: "I can't imagine an NBA field with holes. We play in stadiums where the ball looks more like a rabbit than a ball. If we have to criticize, it seems to me that this should change."
