Nelson Weiper could play for Albania. The 20-year-old striker revealed this himself in an interview with “ Kicker ”.

The Mainz player stated that the red and black national team has contacted him and said that this is a source of pride.

Weiper expressed that his desire is to play for the German first team, but if this does not happen, then he sees Albania as a very good opportunity.

"I've been contacted by Albania and they already want me for the senior national team. It's truly a source of pride when a country's senior team wants you."

"I want to show my talent in the German U-21 team and play for Germany for as long as possible. If things don't work out for Germany at some point, I see Albania as a very good opportunity," Weiper said.

The striker is part of the Germany U-21 team at the European Championship, with whom he has shown very good performances, while also finding the net against England.

Nelson Weiper has a German father, but can play for Albania, as his mother is of Albanian origin.
