Milan is waiting for the right moment to strike with Granit Xhaka, but one thing in "Via Aldo Rossi" is already clear: a long-distance negotiation will not be enough to get the Albanian-Swiss midfielder.

Sporting director Igli Tare knows that convincing Bayer Leverkusen to sit down at the table to discuss selling Xhaka will require another trip to Germany. Although the player himself has been open to a move to Serie A, tempted by a historic club like Milan and the adventure in a championship he still doesn't know, the Rossoneri are aware that among big clubs, especially when it comes to players who are considered irreplaceable by the club that owns them, every step must be taken with caution.

Among these steps, in the coming days there will also be a "head-to-head" meeting in Leverkusen with the leaders of the "aspirins". The aim is to break down the wall built around Xhaka. So far, there has been no opening from the Germans for a departure, also because this spring and summer they have already lost coach Xabi Alonso and three pillars of the team like Frimpong, Tah and Wirtz. Thus, Bayer does not want to be deprived of Xhaka, even in the face of a first offer of over 10 million euros for a "director" who turns 33 in a few months.

Milan has understood that this negotiation will not be easy and that a higher offer will be needed, because coach Ten Hag wants to make Xhaka the team captain. So, the diplomatic part will have as much weight as the economic one. Before talking about the price, Leverkusen will have to be convinced to sit at the table. Meanwhile, the “Thiaw” card cannot be used to convince Bayer, because the Germans are close to closing the deal with Quansah from Liverpool.

The deal will be finalized after the end of the U-21 European Championship. However, this move with Liverpool does not completely rule out the possibility of Thiaw returning to Germany, also because Bayer could take another center-back, while other clubs are interested in him, although none of them have yet offered the 35 million euros that Milan requested last summer.

If Malick were included in the negotiations, it would be easier for Furlani and Tare to reach Xhaka, but for now… What is missing? Milan is convinced that Xhaka would bring to the red and black midfield two qualities that Allegri is insistently looking for: physicality and leadership.

Fofana is considered a sure pillar for the future, but Xhaka can offer even more in terms of character and impact on the game. Their duo, together with Modric and one between Jashari and Guerra, would give the red and black midfield a very strong structure.

As for Guerra (Valencia), the player has informed the club that he will not renew his contract that expires in 2027 and wants to leave this summer. Milan's first offer of 16 million euros, plus 4 million in bonuses, was rejected by Lim's club, but a new offer is expected in the coming days.

Meanwhile, in recent hours, Milan have increased the pressure for Club Brugge's Ardon Jashari. The red and blacks' formal offer is 30 million euros for the Kosovar.

This is more or less the amount that Milan intends to spend on the player's card, but it will probably not convince the Belgians who are asking for 40 million.

This in a situation where there is interest in Jashari from other European teams and his transfer would not be a problem, especially for the Premier League.

Coach Allegri has communicated with director Tare and other executives, making it clear that he wants the player in the team on the eve of the new football season, but everything is up to Brugge to decide. Jashari is considered one of the players who will take over the reins of the midfield of the Helvetic national team.
