Forbes: 10 highest paid footballers in the world for 2024

Cristiano Ronaldo remains the highest paid player in world football according to a new report, with the Portuguese star earning no less than 263 million euros during 2024.

Every year Forbes magazine publishes a list of the 10 highest paid players in the world's most popular sport and, unsurprisingly, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star remains at the top. But which global stars are working hard to keep up with the 39-year-old talisman?

Interestingly enough, Ronaldo actually earns less from his off-field income than runner-up Lionel Messi, who earned €69 million in 2024 from sponsorship and additional revenue streams, but lagged far behind his rival when it came to for wages. Messi earned 130 million euros a year.

Neymar, Al-Hilal's striker who earns 110 million dollars a year, and Karim Benzema, with a salary of 104 million at Al-Ittih?d, follow in third place.

Kylian Mbappé, with 90 million dollars, ranks as the first European in this ranking drawn up by the well-known economic newspaper. In the "Top 10" are Erling Haaland of Manchester City (60 million), Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid (55 million), Mohamed Salah of Liverpool (53 million), Sadio Mané of Al-Nassr (52 million) and Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester. City (39 million).
