The final of the "Conference League" reconciles Veliaj with the Duke

The final of the "Europa Conference League" has made the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj and the head of the Albanian Football Federation, Armand Duka, make a "ceasefire" between them.

Thus, tomorrow they will be together in "Skënderbej" square where at 10:45 will be the display of the UEFA Europa Conference League trophy, while they will give a speech. The ceremony will be opened by Lorik Cana, the former captain of the Albanian national football team, as well as the ambassador of the Tirana final.

The March 2 elections for the president of the Albanian Football Federation have provoked strong clashes between the current president of the AFF, Armand Duka and the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

Veliaj and Duka clashed when the latter ran for a sixth term as president of the Albanian Football Federation. This was unacceptable for Erion Veliaj. The election took place amid fierce debate. The AFF complained to FIFA and UEFA about interference and threats from politics, while Duke took his sixth term as head of the AFF.
