Coach Sylvinho appeared depressed in the interview for SuperSport, after the minimal loss in Poland. The Brazilian coach did not spare compliments for what the players did on the field, as he admitted that a draw would be the fairest result in this meeting.
We saw a willing Albania that did not hesitate to attack the opponent. Can we call this a bitter loss in Warsaw?
Yes. A very difficult loss. It was a very difficult match, as Poland has also played in the World Cup. However, the team did everything well, understanding everything they had to do and we went all the way, playing our chances to score. We played with heart and soul. I spoke to the boys at halftime and asked them to defend well and play hard. We wanted points and why not win. We didn't lose torua and I think that in terms of tactics and organization, we were right on the field. A draw would be fairer, but that's football.
Is there still room for improvement in Albania? If so, where?
This is the heart and soul I seek. In the organizational sense, we reacted very well, but we have a lot of room for improvement, as we want to play with the ball and control the game. We have to correct something in defense as well, but we will analyze all the moments of the match to see where we can improve.
Did you recover well, but also lose the ball quickly?
Poland is a team that plays a lot of long balls and it becomes a bit more difficult to press them. We need to correct this aspect. We played with Gjasula in front of the defense, only to win aerial duels. We faced a very strong team, but we still have to work hard, to grow as much as possible in pressing.
Should we have risked a bit sooner to find the equaliser?
If we were to take risks sooner, we could have been punished with the second goal and the game ended. Here the players were smart, maintaining the balance. The substitutions were of little use in the last 10-15 minutes. Maybe we could have risked more, but it would have been a risk to concede a goal.
