"Poland must keep calm towards Albania", Santos warns the team
Fernando Santos

The 3-1 defeat in Prague against the Czech Republic in the first match of group E shocked Poland coach Fernando Santos quite a bit. Bitter debut for the Lusitanian technician who already has to deal with another difficult match, the one against Albania on the 27th at the Warsaw stadium.

The European champion coach does not dramatize the defeat in the Czech Republic, but asks for caution against the Red and Blacks, as another false step could cost the red and white team a lot. At the press conference, he emphasized:

"We have to calm down, tell ourselves what didn't work and prepare. We cannot respond with anger. We have to play better, be focused. I am sure that the team will present itself better".

In the following, Santos also stopped at the first defeat, taking responsibility, but still described the match against Prague as somewhat strange.

"This match was a bit strange. The team looked very prepared and focused. The team knew rebounds were the Czechs' strong point. It's hard to react when you suffer so quickly. The responsibility always lies with the coach. My job is to keep the faith in the team. We have to analyze what happened, also what was good when we managed to create chances".
