Bayern's surprise, dismisses Nagelsmann and replaces him with Tuchel
Julian Nagelsman

Unexpected from Germany! Bayern Munich sacked coach Julian Nagelsmann as coach.

The sacking comes at a tricky time: After international matches, Bayern take on Bundesliga leaders Dortmund (April 1) and face Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals (April 11 and 19).

Nagelsmann came to Bayern from Leipzig in 2021. His contract runs until 2026, but he failed to see it through to the end.

The number one candidate to succeed Nagelsmann is his compatriot Thomas Tuchel, who previously worked as coach of Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. After that, Tuchel worked at PSG and until last fall at Chelsea.
