Albania started the 2025 European Weightlifting Championships with a very good result. Arbër Çerçizi placed fourth in the snatch with 145 kg.

He also placed fifth in the men's doubles with 316 kg lifted in the barbell.

The performance was impressive for the athlete making his debut on the international stage.

Briken Calja was also scheduled to compete in the 73 kg weight category, but the multiple champion was unable to overcome an injury to his waist and thigh.
