Albanian boxer Jurgen Uldedaj has announced the postponement of the IBO World Cruiserweight Champion title defense match, which was scheduled to take place on October 23 in Tirana.

Through a reaction on social media, Uldedaj announced that the fight will take place on a new date within 2026. According to him, the decision was made due to a minor injury suffered during sparring, but also due to the situation created in the country.

The postponement, as the boxer announced, was coordinated with the IBO organization and was decided with the understanding of his opponent, Blake Caparello.

In his message, Uldedaj emphasized that the situation Albania is going through has influenced this decision, underlining that for him the country is more important than any personal success in the ring.

"For me, Albania is above every title and personal victory. I would not feel right celebrating in the ring while my compatriots protest for their rights and the country is going through difficult moments," the boxer said.

Uldedaj also expressed respect for the right of citizens to protest, while also praising the work of the State Police in maintaining order and security.

Despite the postponement, the Albanian champion stressed that his dream of defending his world title on home soil remains unchanged. He promised to return to the ring to raise the red and black flag, hoping that this event will take place at a more suitable time for the country.

At the end of the message, Uldedaj called for calm and respect, thanking all fans and supporters for their understanding.
