The first round of voting in the Assembly for the new President of the Republic will be held on May 16.

The Conference of Presidents convened at noon today set the date, May 10, as the date for the start of procedures, as well as May 15, as the deadline for submitting candidacies for President of the Republic.

Also, the first meeting of the law commission for the review of candidacies will be held on May 16, at 10:00, while the report will then pass to the afternoon plenary session, scheduled for 17:00

The proposal was made earlier during the meeting by SP MP Klotilda Bushka, who appealed to the parties to put aside political rhetoric.

"Neither prejudices nor comments belong to the conference, they should decide on the start of the procedure and the first date for the president.
