Election of the President, the Conference of Presidents convenes today

Today will be convened the Conference of Presidents, in which will be discussed between the majority and the opposition to start the procedures and determine the date of the first voting for the election of the President of the Republic of Albania.

The meeting will take place at 12:30 p.m. Enkelejd Alibeaj confirmed on Monday afternoon that the opposition will be part of the roundtable of the Conference of Presidents, and along with him, will be present Agron Gjekmarkaj, Fatmir Mediu, Mesila Doda and Grida Duma.

The opposition two days ago presented a draft which provides for the election of a new head of state and how to act in each round.

But the draft was not welcomed by the head of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, as one of the points stipulates that the opposition must propose 4 names of candidates for the new President and the majority only 2.

Although the SP has the votes to elect the President alone, it has been stated earlier that they are not looking for a President of the Socialist Party, but the head of state should be all Albanians
