"SPAK is wrong, but it is not affected", Prime Minister Rama to the
Edi Rama

In an interview for the "East Side Stories" podcast of the Austrian media outlet Die Presse, Prime Minister Edi Rama answered a series of questions related to EU membership negotiations, the fight against corruption, including the political clashes in the US between Trump and Soros, and Jared Kushner's expected investment in the island of Sazan.

Prime Minister  Edi Rama, while speaking about the mistakes that the SPAK Special Structure may make, emphasizes that their independence should not be affected.

"I have said that we must build justice mechanisms that must be able to prove their independence, by investigating, investigating and punishing, no matter which side the issue comes from. It is not as pleasant as going to the opera. It is painful. It is bitter. But it is the only way. Is it perfect? No. Do they also make mistakes? Of course they do. But at the end of the day, we must do everything not to touch the independence that we have given them," Rama said.

Prime Minister Rama emphasizes that Albania's commitment to membership by 2030 has also received great support from the European Commission.

"Will we be like Austria in two years? I'm telling you, no. Not at all. But membership is linked to some very clear and specific principles and criteria that you have to fulfill in full. But as things stand now, I don't see any risk of serious problems at this stage. We don't do this 'homework' to please them. We do this task to change Albania and to make Albania more European, more democratic," he says.

In this podcast, the Prime Minister also commented on Jared Kushner's project in Albania, including the Trump-Soros clash .

"It's not that I know exactly how it happened, but it happened. They came, they visited, they love this country, they came back and then they started thinking about how to do something. I think this is an investment and this is a friendship that lasts a long time, so it will survive even after Trump, so it's not a political friendship at all. That's what I said then, and that's what I'm saying now. Yes, you asked me about Kushner and Soros. Yes, they are both friends. They may not like each other, although I'm not sure. However, it's about them. It's not about me. It's not my job to judge, it's not my job to be part of this. This is Albania and this is home for all the friends we have. So, both are at home here," Rama asserted.

The number one of the Albanian government emphasized that the relationship between Albania and Russia was severed in 1960 and that we have never had a visit to Russia and have not been visited by Russia. " And, honestly," said Edi Rama, "we do not miss it ."
