Ilir Alimehmeti has reacted after the statements of Gazment Bardhi, who attempted to discredit the meeting of the elected figures of the DP by calling it "just coffee".
Alimehmeti said this evening from the Top Story studio that the problem lies in the lack of communication from the DP leaders, not in the meeting in question.
"To be honest, I don't comment on Facebook statuses. If the leadership wanted to, they would have called me. I am a member of the National Council, but they didn't call us ," declared Alimehmeti.
He underlined that Democrats talk to each other because they have been left out of the decision-making process:
"The answer is: no, there was no opportunity to talk. Let's take the situation into our own hands. Not talking and avoiding it leads to situations like the ones we have today — a rotten government and an opposition that can't bring people together."
Alimehmeti emphasized that the responsibility falls on the leaders of the DP, who have not summoned any of the members elected by vote, while emphasizing that in this way they have alienated people.
"Privileges and responsibilities go up. They have our phone numbers, we always answer. Why did we come to this round table meeting? This question should be asked to them. They haven't done it and they've fired people, we simply continue the work, understand where we are and where the problems are," he said.
