The court hearing against former President Ilir Meta has been postponed to October 9.

The reason was the absence of witness Kujtim Cakrani, who had filed a request with the court on the grounds that he was facing health problems.

According to media reports, Cakrani is undergoing surgery in Italy. 

Today, the GJKKO would decide whether or not the case against Ilir Meta would go to trial. 

On September 8, the GJKKO Appeal dismissed Meta's request for release from prison, upholding the August 13 decision by the First Instance Court, which argued that he could not be released because he could destroy evidence and intimidate witnesses.

The former President has also appealed to the Supreme Court, and the request will be reviewed on October 9.
