Albania will produce ammunition after Zelenski's request, Rama: Let's
Prime Minister Edi Rama

Western Balkan countries have said 'yes' to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelesny's proposal to co-produce ammunition to supply Ukraine, which has been under Russian aggression for 2 years.

The news was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who says that it was not only Albania that agreed to this proposal, while he emphasized that everything will be done in cooperation with the allies.

"Zelensky's proposal has nothing extraordinary, Zelensky spoke to us about the possibility of cooperation, which means investment, production and cooperation. Everyone said yes, not only Albania. This is a process, we know that we have to invest more in protection like anyone else and everything we can do in this direction we will do. We will do this with our allies and not with others", Rama said at the press conference with Commissioner Varhelyi after the EU-Western Balkans summit.

The head of the government says that they intend to enter this industry themselves and are working to find partners and the right agreement. According to Rama, the old infrastructure for the production of ammunition will have to be revived. It is still unclear where the joint production of armaments consists, but the possibility that the Poliçani factory could be brought into play is not excluded.

"As for the military industry and the production of weapons, we, Serbia, Bosnia, or Croatia do not have a military equipment manufacturing industry. We want to have it for ourselves first. We have worked and are working to find the right agreement, the right partners, to revive our old infrastructure", said the Prime Minister.
