The head of the OSCE/ODIHR observer mission, Audrey Glover, told reporters that what happens before and after the May 14 elections is as important as the election day itself.

She emphasized the political will to implement the laws in force, while underlining that the ODIHR mission has only an observer role and is not the election police.

" All OSCE member countries have expressed themselves to conduct elections in accordance with these standards. We will let the facts speak for the truth. We will pay special attention to these elements: the work of the electoral administration and the implementation of previous recommendations, the spirit of the campaign, the participation of women in the electoral process and the participation of minorities and the access of PWDs to the process. We will look more carefully at the way election campaigns are financed and the resolution of disputes related to elections. The implementation of the law is as important as the law itself.
