The drafter of the economic program of the Kelliçi candidate, Klodian Muço, was surprised when he declared that the way to make free transportation in the capital, is to cut jobs in the Municipality of Tirana.

Speaking on Report TV, the economic advisor of Këlliç, underlined that many current employees of the administration in the Municipality should be removed because, according to him, they receive their salary in vain.

"The budget of the Municipality of Tirana goes to the salaries and expenses of the administration. They are people who get a salary for nothing. How will we finance it, we will cut administrative expenses, there will be a reform. We did it with pencil and paper, that's how much it costs us, now, how much later and where will the money come from", said Muço.

A study carried out in 2022 by the German experts of GIZ - the German Development Agency pointed out that the cost needed to realize free public transport, including the necessary improvements, ranges from 91.5 million euros to 114.1 million euros. A figure which is unaffordable today from the finances of the Municipality of Tirana.
