At the ceremony of awarding military ranks to the elite athletes of Albania and Kosovo, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that he has removed from his shoulders a burden inherited from the Albanian governments.
"I am relieved today that I have removed this burden from my back, which we had inherited from the past. We do not lower our heads in shame for mistreatment and neglect of them. It has happened to us in the past that dedicated boys have raised other flags, because the state did not give them the opportunity to raise our national flag. They did it for a gym, for a dignified nutritional treatment, for a motivated trainer, for representation. In the absence of these, they represented the strength of their talent and passion. This it is a story of shame of the Albanian state that belongs to the past", said Prime Minister Rama.
