White - Peleshi

Prime Minister Rama delegated to the Minister of Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, an interpellation called by Democratic MP, Jorida Tabaku, regarding the Investment Corporation.

The opposition reacted to the Prime Minister's absence from the session by saying that the head of government cannot delegate the interpellation.

But according to the Speaker of the Parliament, Niko Peleshi, this is a practice that has been done before.

The Bardhi - Peleshi debate:

Bardhi : We have requested an interpellation with the Prime Minister, not with the minister. We want the Prime Minister in the interpellation. If we wanted the minister, we would have requested an interpellation with the minister. The Prime Minister must come and give an account to the Assembly. The Prime Minister cannot delegate this right, the constitution says so. Rama has this duty. Don't make fun of the Assembly.

Peleshi:  This is a practice based on law and many years of tradition. On behalf of the Prime Minister, when deemed reasonable, the interpellation is delegated to another cabinet minister. It is not true that we are in violation of the Constitution and it is neither the first nor the last time.

Bardhi:  You have made the Assembly look ridiculous.

Peleshi:  I'm doing my best not to make it funny.
