Why did Ilir Beqja refuse the Shkodra deputy's mandate?

The former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj , has rejected the mandate of the socialist Benet Beci as a deputy of the Socialist Party in the district of Shkodra.

Beqaj submitted a negative answer to the Central Election Commission , leaving his place to another colleague. Beci's position in the Assembly will be taken by Frrok Gjini .

Benet Beci has been chosen by the Socialist Party to compete on May 14 to take over the leadership of the Municipality of Shkodra, where he will face the democrat and current mayor, Bardh Spahia.

Beqja has decided that between the two, he will remain in charge of the Donations Agency , managing the EU funds. 

The value of foreign funds that will be administered by Beqaj reaches a record figure of around 1 billion euros per year. With the appointment of Beqaj in this position at that time, the Albanian opposition reacted by saying that the Government " hung the wolf's liver ".
