SP takes over president's election, expected within June 6

On Monday the Assembly will meet in plenary to consume the third round of the President's election, as this round has no name in the race either.

The procedure requires that this round of president be elected by 84 votes. The SP hosted proposals from the Democratic Party, but the latter did not bring any names.

There are already two rounds left, in which the President is elected with a simple majority of 71 votes.

Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that he will not take the president's election to the last round, meaning that within next Monday the country will learn Ilir Meta's successor.

The fourth round must be held within 6 June. He will precede the proposal of names on the part of the Socialists, where each proposal must be supported by the firms of 20 MPs. An MP cannot support more than one candidate.

So, at best, the SP will lead three names to the Assembly for a vote, but it may happen that only one name will be voted on at the hearing.
