Former councilor of Lulzim Basha and now a member of AMA, Desada Metaj has reacted regarding the election of Jozefina Topalli as one of the 20 members of the new Presidency of the Democratic Party.

In a post on social networks, Metaj writes that the law does not allow him to be elected member of the Presidency of one party, if he turns out to be the chairman of another party, referring to Topalli who is the chairwoman of the "Movement for Change" party with which entered the elections of April 25, 2021. Metaj further ironizes by saying that it is ridiculous that some are celebrating today the victory over the regime of Edi Rama.

"At least two legal reasons are a condition for being elected to the presidency of a political party:

1. Officially (ie in the court of fact) not to be the president of another party.

2- To be officially a member of the party that elected you as chairman.

"But since this applies to a normal country, it would have been better if I had not said it louder because I look more ridiculous than some who are celebrating today the victory over the regime of Edi Rama," Metaj wrote in her post.
