The opposition protest held yesterday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the capital was accompanied by numerous episodes of violence and clashes between protesters, Democratic Party figures, and the police who were engaged in maintaining security during the rally.
The protest began in front of the prime minister's office, but without speeches and directly with the throwing of Molotov cocktails and fireworks towards the building. Afterwards, the protesters dispersed to several areas of Tirana, targeting the country's institutions.
Amidst all these events, one particular detail went unnoticed. The video below shows the moment when an officer sees the national flag fallen to the ground and rushes to pick it up.
Next to him is MP Xhelal Mziu, who passes by the flag, even stepping on it, not at all concerned that a national symbol is being desecrated.
