Minister of Justice Toni Gogu has reacted to the violent protest held yesterday by the Democratic Party.

Gogu speaks of two different realities, fire and smoke from a poor opposition, and on the other hand, negotiations and EU membership from the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Minister Gogu says that every Molotov cocktail thrown at institutions slows down Albania's step towards the European Union.

Gogu : There are moments when a society is faced with a simple but decisive choice: between the spectacle of fire and the patience of construction. On our streets, time and time again, the same ritual appears, flames rising in front of institutions, smoke covering the facades of the state, noise that seeks to replace speech. It is a poor political language, which is repeated whenever there is no alternative. And yet, outside this smoke, there is another reality: the negotiation tables, the chapters that are opened and waiting to be closed, the standards that are insistently demanded by Europe. Because the European path is not built with flames, but with trust, order and responsibility. Every Molotov that hits institutions not only burns their walls, but slows down the pace of a country that seeks to move forward. Albania does not need fire to prove its strength; it needs the calm and determination of working people who build the future of their children.
