Former Democratic Party MP, Ervin Salianji, reacted after the end of the opposition protest, expressing his critical stance towards the way the action was conducted.

Through a post on the X platform, he emphasizes that the protest did not produce the expected effect of political change, adding that with this approach, according to him, Prime Minister Edi Rama cannot be overthrown.

Salianj's post:

As always, the leadership promised to overthrow Rama, but they only produced a boulevard tour. So not only is Edi Rama not overthrown, but he is actually being kept afloat. Rama is to blame for corruption, not the citizens, businesses and streets of Tirana!

The anti-Rama protesters are heroes. Even after 13 years, they continue to stand, resist, and react in the face of a degraded and deeply corrupt government like that of Edi Rama.

Rama's police behave unprofessionally and suffocate the city with gas, but unfortunately, the opposition leadership is without strategy, without vision and immersed in phantasmagoric promises and political delirium. With no connection to the real expectations of society. Scared only by the loss of their seats, they neither know nor want to listen to the voice of the democrats who demand real change that allows Rama to leave!

The citizens of Tirana do not have to bear any additional costs from misgovernment, neither gas nor Molotov cocktails!

March 22 is the day of Albanian pluralism. The day of the historical turning point after 45 years of murders, persecution and suppression of conscience. The political institution that free and courageous Albanians created was the Democratic Party of Albania: the party of youth, of free intellectuals, of change and of European hope.

This is the symbolism of March 22. This date cannot and should not serve anyone's personality cult.

Because the Democratic Party was not created to hold office, but to overthrow regimes. And whoever has forgotten this has become part of the problem, not the solution.

The solution is clear: competition, votes and elections. Only in this way can the Democratic Party return victorious!
