It seems that the opposition has "changed" its Western allies. While in past protests it protested claiming that the administration of US President Donald Trump was against the Albanian government, it has now abandoned it for Germany.
At today's opposition protest, in addition to the national flag, there were numerous German flags and one of the European Union.
This "alliance" with Berlin comes after allegations that Germany has sought to block Albania's negotiations with the EU until Albania strengthens the fight against corruption and allows the arrest of Belinda Balluku.
Sali Berisha has stated that Germany and others are no longer in favor of the country's integration into the EU, following the Balluku file and the way the government rejected SPAK's request for her arrest and lifting of immunity.
Meanwhile, Democratic MPs have had a busy agenda with meetings in Berlin recently.
