Prime Minister and Socialist Party leader, Edi Rama, reacted after the extended meeting of the Parliamentary Group and the government.
Rama said that the focus was on the progress of communication with socialist organizations within the framework of "Labor of Albania", the process of negotiations for membership in the European Union, as well as the calendar of legal initiatives related to integration. There was also talk of the "May of Europe" and the activities marking the 35th anniversary of the Socialist Party.
"Today, at the extended meeting at the end of the month, with the parliamentary group and the government, we discussed the progress of the communication process with socialist organizations for "Labor of Albania", the progress of the negotiations for membership in the European Union, and the calendar of legal initiatives related to membership, as well as the "May of Europe" and the reunions of generations on the eve of the 35th anniversary of the Socialist Party ," Rama writes.
However, beyond the official agenda, this meeting was not without internal tensions. Reports from inside the meeting revealed clashes between Prime Minister Rama and former minister and MP Elisa Spiropali.
According to sources, Prime Minister Rama had criticized Spiropali regarding her behavior and posts made on social networks. During his speech, the Prime Minister even mentioned extreme measures against her if the situation were to be repeated.
"The first time you didn't come to vote. The second time you made a mistake (referring to the Facebook post) and the third time you don't, you're out of this group, " Rama said, warning him of expulsion from the Parliamentary Group.
