"Since June of this year, I have submitted to the Assembly an amendment to the law, which establishes order in the market. It guarantees the farmers for the money of their goods", said the socialist Erion Braçe.

Socialist MP Erion Braçe has identified another problem that affects thousands of farmers and wants to solve it through a legal change, but he has been blocked from implementing the change.

"There are millions of euros that the collectors of 6-9-12 months and more do not pay to the farmers. They have bought products from farmers and for so long they have not given them the money. They sold the product and have not received the money for more than a year! I have proposed a deadline of 50 days to pay the money to the farmer", Braçe emphasized.

To solve this problem, Erion Braçe does not hesitate to speak openly about why and by whom, his legal initiative is blocked, which, if approved, would benefit thousands of farmers.

"Since June, the legal proposal I made has been blocked. 5 weeks ago, the proposal was on the calendar to be discussed in committees and plenary session. But again it was illegally blocked, outside of any parliamentary procedure, by the chairman of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party! Why? Because he has discovered that I am against the government of the Socialist Party and that the law contradicts its policies".

The clash that Erion Braçe talks about, with the head of the socialist parliamentary group Taulant Balla, is older and deeper than the blocking of legal initiatives in the Assembly. The clash between them is deeper and has its roots in the constituency. Balla is the political leader of the Fier district, while Braçe is the deputy of Divjaka.

The divergences between them appeared in public at the time when the socialist leader arrested by SPAK was to be replaced.

Here is what Braçe wrote in July about Balla's election as head of the SP:

"No one informed me about the meeting where the president of the SP was introduced. I understand the reason, I was against the candidacy of this chairman who was appointed today. Undoubtedly due to him, not meeting the criteria of education, this one has no higher education, he has a degree from a university closed by the government for selling diplomas. He lives in Tirana in a neighborhood with me, 200 meters away. This is a lie about education, a lie about residence."

Chosen at the head of the Socialist Party in Lushnja is Ergest Krakulli, a relative of one of the most talked about names for the Lushnja Gang, Edmond Bego. The latter is known for his friendship with Taulant Balla, so long ago democratic deputies discovered that these two had traveled together dozens of times outside of Albania./ TCH
