Prime Minister Edi Rama has commented for the first time on the way he selects ministers.
The head of government said, among other things, that the leader is the face of the government and that he bears responsibility for every result.
"I think that today, in any democracy, the leader is the identifying face. This is the nature of politics. When it comes to the public face, do you remember any ministers of a great leader like Obama or Macron? This is the part that is seen and it is completely different when it comes to contributions and how the majority works," he stated.
Regarding criticism of the selection of ministers, Rama said that if you are a member of the Socialist Party and its leadership structures, you are not informed that you are being selected as a member of the government, since, according to him, "you are part of the formation."
The Prime Minister also emphasized in his post that it is the "coach" who determines who will "play" or not.
"If they are members of the Socialist Party and its leadership, they don't know. If they are not, I definitely speak in advance, while if they are part of the SP, they are part of the formation that the coach makes with the players who are available.
"The coach doesn't negotiate: will you play or won't you play? They are there ready to take on the tasks and, as long as they have chosen me as coach, I am the one who determines the formation and no one else determines it for me," he said.
