Doctor Ilir Alimehmeti is 1 of the 3 candidates who will compete in the primaries within the Democratic Party to choose the candidate for the Municipality of Tirana in 2023.

Invited to "Opinion", speaking about the urbanization of Tirana and the construction of towers, Alimehmeti said that he will support the setting of the referendum and asking the residents if they agree.

My proposal is to hold popular referendums. If they agree with that urban plan, miracles at all, with permission, with legitimacy, with the support of the population, fire and walk. If the population is against it, whether it's as much permission as you want, whether it's the most beautiful thing in the world that the urbanist has thought, but it's against the wishes of the population, how can we proceed like that. We must give the decision-making power where it belongs, to the individual, to the voter, to the citizen", said Ilir Alimehmeti.
