The General Secretary of the Socialist Party, Damian Gjiknuri, has called on the justice bodies to also strike the ranks of the opposition so that no one escapes responsibility before the law.
During the speech from the floor of the Assembly, Gjiknuri stated that the perpetrators of some crimes that everyone knows today are unpunished and further asked the prosecutors not to be afraid of the pressures. The socialist deputy emphasized that he is not happy when only colleagues of the majority are punished, which according to him damages the image of the state.
"There are enthusiasts who thought that it is enough to make a reform in justice and everything will come as it should. The first were opponents who were represented in the hall by Saliu and his people. The second thought that justice would be the clock and water would go. Democratic institutions cannot be created where there is poverty. These enthusiasts associated with that system that collapsed begin and demand an account for the reform that was made. Vetting struck a lot of people.
I can't deny it. We are in contact with people. The government is the promoter and supporter for this process to proceed as quickly as possible. As soon as some steps begin to be taken, including the judicial map, we forget that we have thousands of unresolved cases. There is an efficiency ration here. Spaces are being created to close the case more easily. They forget that they wrote the law themselves. There is also a stoic category of citizens who have faith in this process.
Albanians need justice from all sides. Those who seem to have escaped justice do not have the moral right to speak here when they see that justice is being hit by the majority today. I am not happy when I see a colleague. It is not good for Albania when officials are punished by criminal justice. It is not good for the image of the state when we unmask our state. When you seek to do justice, you cannot strike from one side only. People with political and criminal influence escape justice.
We ask the justice bodies not to give in to the pressure of the opposition parties. Because you also have your own forms of pressure. Justice must be supported and allowed to do its work. I think this process will take its time, but today it has entered a path of no return. Political militants want to protect their trench. We need to punish anyone who broke the law. The crimes should not be forgotten" , said Gjiknuri.
