The last session in the parliament marked a re-configuration of the numbers in favor of the majority in the Albanian assembly, bringing the majority supporting the Rama government to the quota of 81 votes.
During the voting of the draft laws, the PDIU MPs joined the votes with the socialists and social democrats.
The first signal was given by Shpëtim Idrizi by voting in favor of the draft law on financial management, producing the vote as a whole with 77 votes.
While in another draft law, that of double taxation, three of the four deputies of PDIU Mesila Doda, Shpëtim Idrizi and Nusret Avduallai voted in favor, marking the number 79 votes in favor of the socialist majority. Only a few weeks ago, the group of socialist deputies was joined by the deputy of the Freedom Party, Agron Çela.
If the two socialist MPs Aurora Mara and Agron Cela were not absent from this session due to health reasons, the vote would have recorded 81 votes in favor of the socialist majority. Shpëtim Idrizi also voted in favor of the bill for a loan for the construction of the Durrës aqueduct.
This is a clear signal of the alignment of the PDIU on the same side as Edi Rama's majority, which reaches 81 votes in the parliament. But the change of votes in the parliament does not end there. Socialists hope to reach 82 votes if the youngest deputy in the assembly Gezim Ademaj from PDIU will follow the same voting line with his party.
This movement of the PDIU comes at a time when calculations and pre-election coalitions for the May 14 localities have started to be made. So far, Sali Berisha has signed an agreement for the elections of Ilir Meta and Vangjel Dule. While Dash Shehi of LZHK, an old ally of PD, chose to join an electoral alliance with Democratic Persuasion, founded by Astrit Patozi and several student movements./Tch
