Astrit Patozi and Dashamir Shehi have reached an agreement and will be together in the local elections on May 14. They warned that if the opposition will come up with 2, 3 or more candidates, their grouping will also produce a candidate for the local elections. According to them, they are against Sali Berisha's vision.
Dashamir Shehu, the head of the LZHK, expressed that the wish is for the opposition to come up with a candidate against Edi Rama, but if the DP will not unite, they will have their own candidate.
' We are open to new parties. We believe that it will be the beginning of a movement that will continue to expand. People have the right to think differently and maybe here they will see a hope and a different spirit. If the DP were to appoint 2 or 3 candidates, our wish is that it comes out with one candidate.
We have tried to find a cooperation formula. The desire to remove Edi Rama and have a candidate to face the socialist candidate. We don't have an end point. We can no longer accept that two people lead Albania. We no longer accept the 2008 agreement between Berisha and Rama.
The day has come for Albania to govern differently. If they do not unite, we will have our own candidates. We don't enter the campaign to harm anyone. We are at that point that if the opposition sends 2 or 3, we will enter the race' , said Shehu.
While the leader of Democratic Persuasion, Astrit Patozi, said that while there are two factions of the DP, they will come out with their representatives.
As long as there are two parts of the DP, we as an opposition faction will have our representatives . If they divide the opposition vote, we will run. What can unite us is the common candidate.
We do not have to follow a line that is not ours and we do not believe in it. Shehi said it very well. The political vision separates us from Berisha ,' said Patozi.
