Prime Minister Edi Rama granted the Democrats' wish by going to the plenary session, but not to discuss the McGonigal case. The exclusivity of his first presence for the year 2023 in the parliament was related to the support he wanted to give to Lindita Nikolla when the request for her dismissal was considered.

Although he did not say a word, his presence filled the hall with socialists as Nikola chose to defend himself by calling the request for dismissal as the pressure of the DP's internal problems.

"After I got acquainted with this request, I stopped and started to reflect, but it turned out that the irritations and conflicts in the assembly did not come because of me. Not infrequently also because of your internal disputes and quarrels. Therefore, I do not consider this request as a weakness of yours in the face of the party's internal problems", said Nikolla.

The votes to confirm Nikola in office were not enough and the demand of the democrats was defeated by 78 deputies, two more than the people of the majority present in the hall. 3 votes were in favor of the dismissal, but only two opposition MPs, Bylykbashi and Vasili, turned out to have participated in the vote. Their positions are publicly against Nikola.

The logic of the numbers presents two scenarios. In the event that the 76 deputies of the majority who were in the hall remained compact in favor of the Speaker, 2 of the 3 deputies of the PDIU joined them.

The other option is that one more vote from the left majority went against Nikola, and in this case she received the support of all three PDIU MPs who voted, reports A2.
