Macron is being attacked in France for meeting Rama

French MEP Manon Aubry has reacted publicly regarding the political situation in Albania, criticizing French President Emmanuel Macron for the reception he gave to Prime Minister Edi Rama and expressing support for the protests taking place in the country.

In a post on social media, Aubry writes:

"Edi Rama, the Albanian Prime Minister, was received by Macron yesterday, while Albania has been in revolt for 23 days.

France should not give a blank check to a government that is selling its country to Trump and oligarch interests. Long live the Pink Flamingo Revolution!”

With this statement, the French MEP spoke out against unconditional support for the Albanian government, claiming that it is favoring large economic interests to the detriment of the country and welcoming the protest movement that has been christened the "Pink Flamingo Revolution".
