Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has reacted harshly to Prime Minister Edi Rama 's interview with the "Financial Times", accusing him of using unacceptable language in an international media outlet.

Berisha declared that he condemns the "unqualified insults" that, according to him, Rama used against Albanians during the interview, describing his behavior as inappropriate for a prime minister.

He also said that Rama's reaction was "shocking" for the journalist and the international public present at the interview.

According to Berisha, the prime minister's way of communicating is not simply arrogant, but represents a behavior that he compared to authoritarian figures of the past.

"I condemn the unqualified insults that Rama makes to Albanians in the largest international media. I guarantee you that neither Gaddafi, nor Saddam, nor Maduro have allowed themselves the language that Rama used in the Financial Times. He has proven the boundless hatred he has towards Albanian citizens. His insult was shocking for the journalist and the audience present. He does not behave like a godfather, but much worse than a godfather. He considers Albania to be the sultans of past times," he said.
