"Who should attack us?" - Rama's dark joke about the Western
Edi Rama at the Bled Strategic Forum

"Who should attack whom in the Western Balkans, so that the integration process is accelerated as for Ukraine attacked by Russia?".

This was the question of a "dark joke" (as Rama himself called it), made by Prime Minister Edi Rama at the Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia, regarding the dynamics of the entire situation in the Western Balkans and the process of European integration, which has long been left in a lethargic stagnation.

Referring to the part that Charles Michel requested that within 2030, the EU be ready to start new memberships in the Balkans, Rama requested not only lectures, but also concrete support.

Therefore, taking as an example the situation created by the war in Ukraine, which has accelerated the process for Kiev, Rama has chosen to show, through a joke, how everything really is.

"Who should attack whom in this panel to get membership with Ukraine faster?", asked Rama. "Bulgaria can easily attack North Macedonia without a doubt. Croatia can easily attack Serbia. Serbia can easily attack Kosovo. Bosnia and Herzegovina can attack itself without a problem. I'm sure if we ask the Greeks to do us a favor, they'll happily attack us. Montenegro can play dead on the beach. So we can all be ready to join the "train" with Ukraine!

Moreover, he himself added that it may be a "dark joke", but unfortunately it is true.

It all caused laughter in the room and hilarity, but also an awkwardness in the room about what the EU should really do for the region.
